I am very excited to be able to share my first ever editorial photoshoot with you guys today!
As some of you will know, as part of my fashion styling course with London College of Style, we get the opportunity to work with an incredible team of industry professionals for three photoshoots – the first being commercial styling.
So, on a chilly Wednesday morning, we headed up to the gorgeous Eton & Windsor Riverside to travel to our shoot location. This actually turned out to be a rather small football shed where we were prepping our looks and the hair & makeup team were working on the models… ah the glamorous side to fashion…
In all seriousness, it was an incredible day! My adrenaline was pumping for a solid 9 hours on location, soaking up every second and trying to be the ultimate fashion sponge as I studied how the photographer, glam team and art director worked.
When it came to dressing my model we were actually rather far from the changing room so a makeshift curtain from the photographer’s coat allowed her at least a little bit of privacy.
Luckily she was an absolute champ and didn’t complain once about the situation, even when I stabbed her with a pin (a mistake I have very much learned from… do not puncture the models…) and she was stung by a nettle… hazards of the job?!
I am so incredibly pleased with the shots. Our brief was to style our model commercially – she should be the ultimate ‘Elle Girl’ – and I think these looks nail that aesthetic. A gorgeous backdrop, beautiful hair and wearable clothes, it almost made me not want to return the beaut of a velvet suit from M&S… (before the husband reminded me of the dwindling bank balance that is…).
The final one’s sent off for finishing touches are these beauties;
I’ll be posting more shoots as they come through so keep your eyes peeled!
Until next time lovelies x
